Cross Country Finals

DSC00088 (Copy)

This term saw our children take part in the Humberside Cross Country finals. Having qualified two teams, girls Year 5 and boys Year 4, back in October, the children were very excited to finally get their chance to run for Hull. All the children trained very hard to get ready for the event and represented their city magnificently. A big congratulations goes to Shafee, who finished 11th in the boys’ race, and Isabel, who finished 23rd in the girls’ race. Well done to Lewis, Poppy, Millie and Yasmeena who also ran very well. There have already been requests to get the Running Club started again so the children can get ready for next year’s competition.

Year 4 Athletics

On Tuesday 3rd March, the Year 4 Athletics team went to St. Mary’s College to compete in the Humber Games Level 2 Athletics Tournament. The children were competing in a number of athletic events, ranging from relays to triple jump. The team worked very hard for the tournament and tried their best on the day. Many of our children managed to win their individual events. After all the events were done and the scores were added up, the team finished a very respectable 4th place out of the 14 teams that entered. Well done Year 4!

Tigers Sport and Education Trust

The Tigers Sport and Education Trust offers services to the regions primary schools. Services include delivery of high quality physical education, covering many aspects of the curriculum. The Trust aims to increase the confidence of every child involved. Lessons are appropriately matched to the age and ability of the individuals involved. Importantly lessons are enjoyable and safe with an outcome of children being more active both during and outside of school hours.

The Trust will be working within our school over this academic year. Over the year the majority of children will have some involvement with the Trust, however, the PE lessons focus on Year 4,6.
