In this school education is about children experiencing the power of discovery, solving problems, being creative in writing, art, music, developing their self confidence as learners and maturing socially and emotionally.

We will combine high standards with a broad and rich curriculum. This will be carried out in a safe, secure, supportive and stimulating environment.

This school will drive its own improvement, to set its own challenging targets recognising the need to continually develop.

Learning will be focused on individual pupils’ needs and abilities. We will develop assessment for learning which enables knowledge about each child to inform the way they are taught and learn.

Teachers, Nursery Nurses and Teaching Assistants will provide a sensitive and individual approach to support children with special educational needs, gifted and talented children and minority ethnic groups. We will give extra support to the children that need it most.

We will build a partnership with parents by providing clear, good quality information and by involving them, and the local community, in the life of the school.

We will use the out of doors, local and wider environment to enhance our pupils learning opportunities. There will be many out of school visits and a range of visitors coming into school to enrich teaching and learning.

Recognising the demands on modern families we will provide high quality, professional child care both before and after school.

All adults in our school will promote high standards of conduct through their actions and by teaching positive behaviour, self discipline and a sense of responsibility to our pupils. A clear system of rewards and sanctions will underpin this.

We will include every child and offer them, whatever their individual characteristics and background the chance to achieve their full potential, thereby laying the foundations for future learning and success in life.
